Chapter 13 Joy in the form of leaves

Back in the Dark Area, Nny sat quietly against the wall of their castle like layer. Surprisingly he didn't went through another punishment. In fact, he hadn't been punished so severely lately. The Dough Boys would yell at him a little bit but didn't do much to him. It was as if he was once a threat but now it seemed he was no longer a threat even when he didn't kill Devi or her friends.

The Dark Master didn't seem to angry with any of them for not killing the mummy girl. Anne walked over to Johnny as he sat with his eyes closed.

"Johnny?..." Anne was about to ask.

"You're wondering how and why I knew that girl wasn't the one, aren't you?" Johnny asked as he sensed her thoughts.

"Uh..." Anne replied nervously. "Yes..."

"I dunno really...myself..." Was Nny's response.

"What kind of answer is that?" Anne asked in surprise.

"I just felt it..." Nny said simply. Then his eyes widen as a vision appeared in his mind.

**Flash**

A short haired little kid carrying a teddy bear was playing with a ball in front of his yard. His parents had went into the house for a quick second. What happened next was he kicked the ball too hard and put his teddy bear down for a little moment. Something was telling the little boy to come back as he told the teddy bear "It will be okay, Shmee! I'll be real quick!"

As soon as the boy dressed in a red and black stripe shirt and jeans ran out into the street to get his ball, an incoming car started to come down the road. The young boy stared up as the car was about to him when all of a sudden...

"Gotcha!" Someone grabbed him and did a cartwheel motion on the other side of the road where the boy's house was.

"What are you crazy!?" said roared the driver in the car then drove off.

"You think I'm crazy, you nearly hit a kid!" The man that had saved huffed with a smirk. Then he looked down at the child. "Are you okay?"

"Uh-yeah..." Said the little boy nervously.

The young 17 year old man let the boy down and brushed him off a little bit. "You shouldn't play in the streets. It's dangerous."

"I know..." The kid said. He looked up at the 17 year old man curiously. He wore a black shirt with blue and black stripe sleeves, gothic jean shorts with little straps that dangled on the side for looks and sneakers. The man brushed his own black messy hair slightly and then looked at the boy's teddy bear.

"Say?" The young man asked "Who's your friend?"

"Oh, that's Schmee." The young boy said as he pointed to his bear.

The young man picked up the bear and examined in it. It had unusual square eyes and a open mouth smile. It had light brown fur. Something felt warm and alive about this stuffed animal.

I see...The young man thought as he smiled warmly at the bear. You have a spirit too...I can sense your thoughts. You want to protect this boy... Then he closed his eyes and placed his right palm on the bear. The boy looked at the young man strangely. Then I shall give you a bit of my power so you can do so. With that an aura came over the young man's body and onto the bear. Then he gave the young boy the bear.

"I cast a spell on your friend." The young man told him gently. "So now as long as you have him, he'll always protect you but don't think your invincible. This power will only protect you from those who wish to harm you as long as you continue to care about him. Understand?"

"I think so..." The young boy nodded.

"Good..." The young man nodded with a bright smile. Then he got up and began walking away.

"Oh and  thank you!" The young boy said cheerfully. "My name is Todd by the way!"

The young man turned and smile "Nice to meet you..." He said "You can call me 'Nny'. See you around some time..." Then he walked off.

"Thank you, sir..." Todd said shyly.

*End of Flashback*

With that Johnny snapped out of it as he gasped

"What's with you?" Anne asked but she wondered if that was a good idea.

Johnny just grunted and teleported off to his chamber.

"That was...weird..." Anne whispered. He just flipped out like he was having a fit or something and then just snapped out of it...That's not the first time that's happened. Just who are you Johnny?

"Nny?" A voice called out faintly somewhere in a tiny golden cage.

****

Demi looked up at the window while Devi slept.

Did I just hear someone? Demi thought uncertain in her mind.

*****

"Tenna..." Said an elderly woman in bed.

"Yeah, Grand grand?" Said a young Tenna. Her grandmother had been very sick lately and Tenna was very worried.

"Tenna, there is one thing you need to know..." Her grandmother once said "If you keep your chin up and always look to the good and not the bad, even if someone tries their hardest to bring you down. Don't, they think cause they're unhappy, that means others should be too. As long as you choose to keep your chin up and be as kind as you are, you can do a lot of great things and lot of great things will happen to you...Even when things look bad...Happiness will find away to you if you are kind."

With that her grandmother fell a sleep and never woke up.

"Grand Grand!" Tenna cried out

Tenna cried out in her sleep which also scared Mr. Spooky who cried out "Spooky!!!". She raised up with sweat pouring on her face as she looked around.

"Spooky?" asked as it rubbed it's eyes sleepily.

"It was just a dream..." Tenna said. They heard a knock on her door.

"Tenna?" They heard Eric's voice asked "I heard you yelling. Are you alright?"

"Oh..." Tenna said embarrassingly and she told him "Yeah, I'm alright..." Then she giggled and said "Sorry for the fright!"

"Well alright..." Eric said from behind the door.

"Thanks for checking up on me!" Tenna said.

"Uh...Sure!" Eric said a little shyly "Night!"

"Night..." Tenna replied the same way.

****
Tenna was playing a video game with Spooky while Eric sat in the cushion, reading a book under a lamp beside him. Demi also sat with Eric. Devi was busy working on a project so Demi decided to come over to Tenna's so is not disturb Devi. When they didn't go out, Tenna would spend a lot on the internet or playing a video game. It kept her mind busy or from going crazy.

After, Tenna lost to Spooky for the third time, she sighed, fell back and pretty much quit. Eric looked at her and chuckled in amusement.

"Spooky is quite a gamer for a doll..." Eric smirked

"Don't remind me!" Tenna sighed "He beat me 20 times at Ninja Battle 2!"

"I'm afraid to ask 20 times non stop or by taking breaks in between?" Eric whispered but he just shrugged. Demi giggled at the comment.

"Well, I hope next time we play beat the bad guy that I'm a bit better than I am at video games..." Tenna implied.  "I wonder when I'm gonna get my armor?"  Tenna asked as she looked at Mr. Spooky who just shrugged. Even he didn't know when the power of the armor would be granted. It just happened when the time had came.

"Well, in due time, I guess." Eric replied

"Yeah, I kinda wonder when you will too." Tenna implied "You don't have a familiar like us."

"Yeah, you're right!" Demi replied

It also finally hit Eric that the familiars seem to help them transform and gain weapons. "I guess I'm just gonna have to gain my armor another way...or something..."

"Yeah..." Tenna wondered what he would look like in armor. At first she thought of this big bulky hunk of metal practically swallowing him whole but then again, when Devi got her armor, it wasn't all that big or bulky, so it wouldn't make sense for it to be big and bulky on him being he was just as thin. It was amazing though cause he seemed very strong in battle but then again he was a vampire and from what she seen in movies, a vampire could lift a bolder without breaking a sweat.

Eric tilted his head slightly as if to wonder what she was thinking. Spooky did the same thing right after him as the doll let out a "Spooky?"

"Earth to Tenna..." Demi said as she floated in front of Tenna's face waving her little arm.

Tenna shook her head and laughed nervously "Sorry!" She said "Just had something on my mind!"

****
Mean while on a building not too far from apartment buildings where Devi and her friends lived, a boy appeared from the sky and gently floated down using a black parasol. His hair was short and his slightly worried eyes were brown. He wore an unusual black, long slightly baggy, sleeve shirt with white trimming that went down from the collar of the shirt to the bottom. He wore black cotton pants that zipped and buttoned like jeans. As floated down on top of a building, his parasol turned into a teddy bear in which he held nervously.

****

"Oh..." Eric replied still looking at her odd. "Okay then..." He then smiled and said "Well, we shouldn't think so much of it. Like Mina said, we'll get our armor in time and it may not be that long."

Tenna laughed excitedly and said "You're right! I'm sure we'll look real cool too!"

"That's the spirit, Tenna!" Demi cheered "You'll gain your armor really soon because your spirit is always so happy, it brightens those around you. Right guys?"  Demi turned to Eric and Spooky.

Spooky nodded lifting it's arm up in agreement. Eric chuckled and nodded with his usual kind smile.

"Thanks..." Tenna said flustered a bit as she felt her face turn red a little bit. Then she thought of something flashed back into her mind as she remember having that dream from last night.

"Are you alright Tenna?" Eric asked in slight concern as she noticed .

"Yeah I'm fine..." Tenna replied nervously. "I'm gonna step out side for a moment." Then she stepped out the door of her apartment room. Mr. Spooky followed her to see if she was doing alright.

Tenna went outside for a little bit and sat on the bench outside and just kinda stared out into space.

"Spooky..." Mr. Spooky replied sadly as he floated up to his partner.

Tenna didn't even noticed him. She just kinda stared off a little bit in space. She was kinda reflecting a bit on how she was in life. Tenna had always had a cheerful attitude but that didn't mean she was completely happy inside.

"Tenna?" Her thoughts were cut off by the voice of Eric.

"Are you alright?" Eric asked as he walked with Demi by his side.

"Oh, yeah, I just have a lot on my mind, that's all..." Tenna said as she looked down.

"You wanna talk about it?" Eric asked

"I guess its better then doing nothing..." Tenna replied as Eric sat to her right.

****
"So most of the time, I always tried to keep a cheerful attitude to be strong other people..." Tenna told him. "But I guess even then I'm not real happy inside. Well...at least when it came to really scary times...Like one time my grandmother was really sick and all of us were like worried about her. My younger siblings began to cry and I wanted to cry with them, but I was told to be strong and positive so I would try to cheer em up."

"Tenna..." Eric replied.

Tenna closed her eyes fighting back tears as she continued "When grandma died, I felt like I failed to keep strong for them or at least, I felt like I lied to them when I told them grandma would be alright." She began to cry.

Eric put a comforting hand on her back and rubbed it. "It's okay to be sad every once in a while, its only human, especially on times like that. And you didn't lie to them. You just wanted them to not feel scared and sad. Every good sibling or family member would have done the same."

Demi replied "Yeah, it's good to be strong too for others and thinking positive does work...But...It's also natural to cry and show feelings of being afraid too. It's okay to be scared..."

"Yeah..." Tenna nodded trying to wipe away her tears.

"Mother once said to me, that no one goes through life without shedding a few tears every now and then." Eric stated

"I guess you're right." Tenna let out a little giggle. "Thanks for comforting me..." She then cuddled Demi and  gave Eric warm hug, nudging her head into his chest. Eric was a little surprised by this but returned the hug just as warmly as her's.

"Anytime...." He said softly. They stayed that way for a moment until Demi and Mr.Spooky hovered over their heads, they quickly jerked away bashfully.  Tenna felt her face burning red as she turned away. Eric rubbed the back of his head nervously as well and turned away slightly as if he was blushing too, but of course, being a vampire he couldn't.

Demi giggled a little bit and gestured her left "hand" to Spooky playfully, as to if to tease with him about the two. Mr. Spooky crossed his arms and nodded, making a sarcastic sound.

Meanwhile, Devi looked down at the two. She had been watching them for a while since taking a break. A smile crept up on her face.

Back in the Dark Realm, Anne was packing these beaded necklaces in these small, slender gift boxes. Each beaded necklace had an onyx black pendant. Some pendants were small and made in a perfect circle, while others were large in a diamond shape.

Nuka walked over like a flea bitten mongrel and asked "What's with the boxes? It's not like you to give presents to people."

"Hush, dear child." Anne simple said in her put down manner.

D-Boy came over to her and asked "The Dark Master wants chaos and despair to be brought upon. The more despair and hatred there is in the world, the stronger our master will be. These pendants will do just that, I believe?"

"Yes, they have a nice little curse on them." Anne explained with a proud smirk. "Anyone who wears these pendants will bring out their most darkest feelings, whether those feelings are depression or anger and it will just grow stronger."

"But what about those stupid knights?" Nuka asked.

"If those infuriating knights get in the way," D-Boy explained "We'll just send out a monster to handle them."

"Hey, where is Nny?" Anne asked "I haven't seen him in a while..."

"He's in his chamber resting up, I suppose..." D-Boy answered.

"You sound unsure..." Anne noticed

"Why are you so concern for Nny, anyway?" Nuka asked in an almost disgusted tone.

"I'm not, I'm just curious." Anne said smugly. "I can be curious as much as I want."

"Well, enough of being 'curious'." D-Boy recommended "It's time to get to work, Anne."

"Alright then..." Anne said as she rolled her eyes and with that she snapped her fingers and black circle went over her. As soon as it went over her, she was changed into a black business women dress with a business coat and a black skimmer hat.

"Interesting fashion sense..." Nuka commented blankly.

"Least I have a fashion sense." Anne commented. "Though I have to admit...This ain't my thing, but in order to do business, I have to look attractive to those weak hearts." With that she and the pendants disappeared into the mall, not too far from Mina's shop.

"Hey, everyone!" Anne said in a fake cheery attitude. Some people around her including some kids stopped and looked at her. "I'm here to make all your wishes come true! Want your dreams to become a reality or just give a special gift to your loved ones." She picked up one of her pendants to her face and said in a mysterious and somewhat sinister expression. "Try my pendants...."

****
Later that day...

Tenna heard a knock on the door. When she answered Nile was standing there out of breath with Devi.

"Woah, what's up?!" Tenna asked their friends.

"Trouble!" Devi answered in a serious tone.

They got all into Devi's car and spun off toward the mall.

"So let me get this straight?" Eric tried asking "You say you saw Anne at the mall?"

"I dunno if it was that same witch or not..."Nile explained "We were at the mall visiting Mina and Edgar and delivering some snacks to them. I notice a strange women all in black and she was giving out these weird pendants. As soon as I got near one, I sensed great evil magic!"

"So did anyone wearing the pendants acted strangely?" Tenna asked

"Well I notice a couple that had them on they were crying." Nile answered worriedly "Like the woman was crying and man was worried and filled with grief as if the Great River Nile was flooding..."

"That sounds like something that witch would come up with..." Devi commented.

"I left the children with Mina and Edgar drove me here but he had to hurry back..." Nile explained.

As soon as they got to the mall, they spotted Anne. Even in her disguise, they could spot her like a ladybug on a green leaf.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing!" Devi snapped at her as they ran over to the scene.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Anne said in her usual snobby tone. "I'm trying to sell some nice necklaces! See!?" She took one and as she threw it at Devi, Devi flew back as it wrapped around her like a rope or chain.

"Devi!" Demi cried out as she flew over to her.

"Get this off me!" Devi struggled as much as she could but the rope seemed to be getting tighter. Demi grabbed one of the rope and began pulling it.  Eric noticed Devi looking weak.

"Are you okay?" Eric asked worriedly.

"Oh...I'm getting tired and getting depressed..." Devi answered almost sleepily

"Devi!" Tenna shouted

"Yeeha haha!" Anne laughed as she explained "My pendants suck both the energy and happiness out of the person who wears it! It's a brilliant plan that I had come up with!"

"Oh shut up!" Tenna snapped. "Out of all the people I get tired of facing, you have got to be the top of my list!"

"That makes double for me..." Eric grumbled

"Oh I'm sorry that you feel that way..." She sneered as she threw one around Tenna's neck and Tenna fell to her knees as the depression curse began to work on her.

"Tenna!" Eric as he ran over to her and tried to get it off her.  Tenna began crying a little bit as the curse began effecting her more.

"What's wrong?" Eric asked worriedly.

"This thing is trying to make me think terrible of myself..." Tenna started as she struggled trying to get it off.

"You gotta fight it, Tenna!" Eric told her as he knelt down beside her and put his hands on her shoulders and faced her. "You can do it! Remember what your grandmother said!"

"Ugh shut up!" Anne snapped as she threw another pendant right around Eric's neck. Eric grabbed trying to get it off him, but like Tenna it was no use. It just got tighter to where he just couldn't get it off. As it's curse came upon him Eric's head drooped down a little bit.

"Yes! Finally!" Anne said as she changed to her usual get up. "I got all three knights! I might just get promoted even!"

"Eric...Devi..." Tenna looked at her friends.

"Spooky!" Said Mr.Spooky as he tried yanking the necklace off her. They all started to gain visions of their past within their head. Eric visioned his mother leaving him and his father's awful words. Devi remembered all the pain she went through having a relationship with people, having people hurt around her, nearly losing Demi and getting attacked by Johnny. Tenna envisioned her grandmother dying and her siblings upset.

"Mother!" Eric cried out in pain at his vision. His wings cradled over him as shivered in the pain he felt.

"Demi...." Devi began to cry. "Johnny..."

"Don't lose faith!" Demi called out to her. "Concentrate!"

Tenna was lost in her vision as well.

"Why did you lie to us!?" Said a dark vision of her younger sister.

"I didn't!" Tenna cried out.

"You did!" Said her brother. "You said Grand Grand would be okay! She died!"

"No! I didn't lie to you!" Tenna cried again.

"Spooky! Spooky spooky!" Her familiar was trying to get her to snap out of it.

"You're a horrible sister!" Her siblings cried.

"I am..." Tenna muttered.

"Spooky!" She heard Mr. Spooky's voice.

"Mr. Spooky...?" Tenna replied

*Since we have no idea what Spooky is saying I'll translate to English just this once.*

"You gotta break out of it!" She heard Mr. Spooky say.

"Out of it...?" Tenna replied. "But they're right here...They're telling me that I am a horrible sister...And I am...I told them a lie. I got them to cheer up but I ended up lying to them...It didn't turn out to be alright..."

"Is that what you really remember?" Spooky said. "Cause I remember something different. Remember what your siblings really said to you when that happened."

A flashback came into her mind.

"I'm sorry, everyone! Grand Grand she didn't....make it" Her voice choked in tears at she cried in front of her siblings. They didn't say anything at all. They just came and wrapped their warms around her and each other in a loving comfort.

"You see..." Mr. Spooky replied.

"But they were here...saying...." But Mr.Spooky interrupted her with "Tenna, if they were really your siblings, would they really hurt you? When they embraced you, they didn't feel that you needed to apologize. They shared the same pain as you and were comforting you just as much as you did for them. That's true happiness. That's the kindness you bring to everyone."

"Spooky...."

"Grand Grand..." Tenna said and finally snapped out of it!

*Kay, translation's over! :D*

"Okay, I've had enough!" Tenna shouted as the necklace around her neck broke.

"What!?" Anne was shocked that she broke the spell. "How could you!?"

"Because everyone goes through pain.." Tenna began saying. "It's alright to feel these feelings and be sad or angry once in a while, but happiness will come when you are kind and believe it will! It maybe hard at times. Sometimes you need to be sad in order to be happy. Happiness and sadness can't live without each other. The thing is to balance it out and try your best. Life is full of pain but also full of things that make us happy and those are the things worth fighting for!"

Then she sneered at Anne "You may want others to be unhappy, probably because you're unhappy too! But I'm gonna change all that!"

"Oh, is that so?" Anne sneered back.

"Yeah, that is so!" Tenna said back with more courage then ever. Her body then suddenly began to glow as did Mr.Spooky.

"What's happening?!" Tenna gasped

"Spooky! Spooky!!!" Mr. Spooky shouted

"She's getting her armor!" Demi exclaimed happily.

"Mr. Spooky..." Tenna said in surprise.

"Spooky spooky spooky!" Mr. Spooky

"Yeah!" Tenna said happily. "I remember when we first met. You just appeared out of no where!"

*Flashback*

"Guys!" Tenna shouted in shock as she ran out of her room to her mother, siblings and grandmother and grandfather. "There's this weird doll that like just appeared and it floats and all it says is 'spooky' and for some reason, I can understand what it says!"

Everyone looked at her like she was going crazy until Mr. Spooky jumped onto her shoulder.

"Yeep!" Tenna jumped

"Relax, Tenna..." Her mother said

"Wow!" Said her brother "I want a doll like that!"

"You may get one, one day..." Her mother told him.

"What do you mean?" Tenna asked her mother. To her family it didn't seem all that of a shock except for her siblings.

"That was when I found out I had magic in my blood and we've been best friends ever since!" Tenna said. "Since that day, I don't think I've ever been so happy!" Then she looked at Mr. Spooky and with a big grin on her face. "I want to make more people happy! I want to bring hope and joy to everyone! Everyone goes through pain, so that's why we need to bring happiness when there can be!"

"Spooky!" He said cheerfully as he glowed brighter and then went into her heart. With that her staff appeared and a mix of leaves and and wind swirled around her. Her outfit changed into her armor. The chest armor was made out of a flexy tough material, that was almost an emerald green like the rest of her outfit, except with a "torn" effect in which on her right shoulder of the top, was colored a lily white. In the middle of these lines was a circle and an emerald, clover shaped, gem right on where her heart was. She had green shoulder pads similar to Devi's. Her top was short and it showed her stomach. She wore thin dark leggings and a sash that had two small ropes, one with a pink feather and the other with a teal feather and belted green goth boots. She also had the same kind of gloves as Devi's.

"What happen to you!?" Anne said in shock.

Tenna looked at her new outfit and said smiled as she did her introduction. She jumped and did a gesture as if to do 'rock paper scissors' with her two fingers in a scissors or peace sign motion. "I represent honesty and joy! The knight in emerald armor!" With that she twirled and said "Knight of Forest Clover!

"What you got your armor!?" Anne shouted hysterically almost.

"You catch on pretty slow!" Tenna said with her hands on her hips. She finished her introduction with “I’ll break through your negative attitude and grow stronger!”

She went over to Devi and said. "Devi, you can you hear me!?" She looked up at her in a dead stare. "It's okay, we're all here now! When I met you, I knew you had kindness in you and you were a good person, Devi. I just felt it..."

The thought about when they first met and and all they have together as she continued

"That's why I wanted to be your friend because I knew deep inside, there was a good person under that tough and moody exterior...I just felt you needed someone to help you out and bring you out of that slump, that you could show your true self that was hiding away. "

"Tenna..." Devi replied.

"You're my very best friend! You just got out of this slump. You can't be lost in it again!" Tenna replied She used her magic to weaken the power of the necklaces. "Think of all the fun we had. The joy you finally felt in your life! Don't tell me you want to lose that feeling again. I definitely won't let you!"

With that the vision of the past with her friends came to Devi and within the moment, the necklace finally broke.

"Tenna!" Devi replied snapping out of it. "You did it!"

"We did it!" Tenna replied "It's only when you believe in happiness that I can help break through."

"You gained your armor too!" Devi replied as she just noticed.

"What are you doing!?" Anne snapped at her.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Tenna told her. "I'm getting rid of your evil pendants! They were tacky looking, anyway!"

"Demi, now!" Devi signaled her partner to transform. When they did they Devi told Tenna "Help Eric out! We'll keep this bitch distracted!"

"You don't need to tell me to help him..." Tenna replied softly as she had already started walking to him with a warm smile on her face.  "I definitely want to help you. You often remind me of what I was taught and who I really am. Just being in the same room with you makes the air feel lighter."  She knelt and gently put her hand on his shoulder. "Eric...Can you hear me?"

Eric was still in pain from his depression. His visions kept showing how his mother left him, his father yelling at him and what he thought his friends felt about him now.

"Your mother left you because she never loved you! That was all a lie! She left you because she couldn't stand you either! Who can!?" He sneered. "You're a wuss! All you do is complain!"

"Shut up!" Eric told him in tears.

"See you're crying again! Like the little wuss you are!"

"Why you leave us, Eric?" Said a nightmare version of Oblivia that appeared. "Didn't you care about us?"

"Of course..." Eric replied shakily . "I just...."

"Then why?" Said young boy with blonde hair, a brown shirt, sneakers and black pants. He was another friend of Eric's. "Why you just up and left us?"

"I couldn't...stay....It would have been too hard...."

"See you back down when things get too hard. How can anyone say you're strong?!" The boy yelled.

"Eric!" Tenna called to him.

"Tenna...?"

"What do you see, what is it that's upsetting you?" Tenna asked.

"My mother...and everyone hates me...." Eric muttered. "So do my friends..."

"That's definitely not true..." Tenna replied.

"Huh...?" Eric replied still in a dead stare as Tenna helped Eric sat up.

"From what you always talked about your mother, it sounded like she really did love you. I dunno for sure why she left, but I'm sure it was for good reasons. Maybe she just felt that bringing you would have been too hard for her and you. Living on your own is hard enough as it is. Can't imagine what it's like to bring a kid, especially not knowing where you're gonna go."

Now Eric thought of it, the only envision of his mother was a flashback of her leaving but not before she told him she loved him.

"I'll return one day... I promise." Said his mother.

"Why can't I go with you?" A young Eric asked worriedly.

"Because it would be too hard right now." She said as she placed warm assuring hands on her son's shoulders. " I'm going on a journey to seek a new life for the both of us...but in order to do that, I need to do somethings first to ensure it, figure things out and it would be too hard for me to bring you. But I promise my little light, that I'll return as soon as I get everything settled. Your cousins will take care of you for now, so don't worry. You'll always be loved and as long as you're kind, you'll find true happiness and true love."

She then hugged Eric and said "I love you, my little prince. Be brave..." She said this as she pointed to his chest. "Even when I'm not near by, I'm always here, so you have nothing to fear." With a little kiss on his forehead.

"She did leave for important reasons..." Eric said in his mind. "She never returned and my cousins tried keeping me but my father won custody over me...but that's why I was always convinced that something must have happened to her and that's why she never returned, because I knew....My mom loved me all along. My heart knows it for sure. That's why she never appeared in this nightmare to say any of that..."

"I know your mother loved you and still does!" Tenna replied. "With how she influenced you so much, that's definitely someone that loves you! As for your friends, I doubt they would hate you either. I'm sure they would understand why you left if they were good friends. I know I would never hate you!  I don't think anyone can for that matter, unless they were really nasty! I can always count on something sweet, encouraging or funny to come right out of that mouth of yours!"

She giggled at the last part.

He remembered hanging with his friends and how close he was to them.

"My friends would say the same thing..." Eric replied as he smiled finally.

"See...." Tenna replied with a smile. "I told you!" She then hugged him tightly. "You'll always be loved and you'll always have us..." She whispered.

With that the necklace broke off of Eric and he shook his head as Tenna broke her embrace from him. "That was awful..." he said. "I hope I never get stuck in that nightmare again..." Then he looked up at Tenna and cheered up. "Thanks Tenna! You're a real life saver!" He then hugged her for a quick moment.

"Anytime! " Tenna replied with a wink.

"Uh guys, I'm glad you're okay..." Devi replied as she struggled with Anne "But I could use a little help here! She's turning the people into zombies!"

She was right. The people that had fallen under the necklaces were rising up to attack them.

"Everyone remember the good times you had! I know everyone has a happy memory somewhere within your hearts!" Tenna looked up and called forth "Spirited Gale!" With that the necklaces everyone had broke and everyone began feeling better.

Anne growled and called for "D-Boy! Now!"

As soon as she said that a black, thin monster with tentacles on its back and crawled on muscular legs with long claws. It had a flat head like that of a hammerhead shark, with red eyes underneath the head and bird beak like mouth.

"That the heck is that...." Eric said as he looked at the monster in slight disgust.

"Someone's drunken nightmare..." Was Devi's remark.

"Do you think it's related to that witch? I do notice a resemblance between the two." Tenna joked as they jumped out of the way of it's swinging tentacles

Tenna then got serious "Either way, it's not gonna stay around long! I'm in full power now!" She raised her staff and called out "Spirit Star Storm!" With that, a much powerful version of her old attack, came out of her staff .

"Earth's Eternal Slumber!"

"Hikari Heartbeat Wave!"

All three of them attacked together side by side from each other. The monster immediately vanished within sparkles of light and leaves.

"How could they defeat that monster so easily!?" D-Boy said in shock.

"Because everyone can do anything if they put their mind to it!" Tenna simply said

Eric and Devi smiled at her, with Eric nodding and Devi letting out a little chuckle.

With that Anne huffed as she threw her hat to the ground and disappeared. Tenna transformed back into her normal self and she collapsed on her knees. Eric caught her by grabbing both her shoulders as he stood in front of her.

"Are you alright, Tenna?" Eric asked worriedly as Devi came over to them.

"I will be..." Tenna said dizzily. "When everything stops spinning..."

"Spooky..." Mr. Spooky said on the ground as he raised one hand and then it went limp. Demi came over to him. She took a tissue and began waving it over him to cool him off.

Eric and Devi chuckled at their friend.

"Well things seemed back to normal...." Eric replied

"This is normal?" Devi asked.

"Well, normal for us, anyway..." Eric replied again.
