Alternate Difference: Complete opposite from that in the comic. In the comic he comes and bites Eric and turns him into an uglier version of Count Oarlock from Nosferatu, as a moral morbid price of "Be careful what you wish for". Chances are he did this just to get a free meal and not help Eric at all. In this fanfiction series, he is the exact opposite and actually cares for Eric. He turns Eric into a proper vampire in order to save his life. In the comic, Magnus doesn't have a real name. His name in the fanfiction came from when Eric yelled out "Oh my Magnus!" in the comic when he first appeared in his room.
Bio/Profile: Magnus is a vampire that appears to a dying Eric, after Eric is stabbed by a member of the "Skeleton Crew" gang. He gives Eric his blood and turns him into a vampire in order to save him, being quite proud of the boy's noble sacrifice of protecting Devi. From time to time, he appears and watches over Eric, as well as teach him helpful hints and skills, needed to be a good warrior, along with how to survive as a vampire.
It's hinted that he knew Eric was one of the chosen knights of light, that will rise and defeat the Great Darkness. It's possible he knew it from the start and that is why he happened to save him. Magnus looks young but he's actually about a thousand years or so, and due to vampires actually don't live forever, but just live longer then most living things on earth, his time is slowly coming to an end or so he says. He kinda hints this by showing signs of power failing and a bit of exhaustion from even mild to moderate fights.
Magnus speaks in an old English kinda tone. He is no nonsense and high mannered. He has a strong sense of honor and discipline as a warrior. However, Magnus does have a soft side. He doesn't say it but shows in expression and how he treats Eric, that he is actually close to Eric and almost sees him as his own blood, though he says he doesn't ever try to get close to anyone, possibly because he has seen much death including his own pupils. He's also very much like a grandfather figure to Mina and often looks out for her and Edgar's well being. He is the guardian vampire of Mina's family for centuries, due to a promise he made to her family.
Alternate Difference: N/A She's an original character. Though the picture of her is actually from an anime game. I was too lazy to draw her so I thought I'd just find an image closely resembling her. She basically looks and dresses the same as in the picture
Bio/profile: For years, Mina's family has awaited for the return of the 4 legendary knights of light, being they had train the original knights so that they could rise up and defeat the Dark Master. Therefor Mina has held responsibility to be ready in case the knights were chosen. Though not a knight herself, she hones mystical abilities she developed through constant training. She also is a manager for her family's business, mainly the antique shop at the mall, but sometimes she manages a little bit at her family's resort and spa.
Because of all her responsibilities, Mina has never really lived a normal child life, therefore, she doesn't know how to have fun or interact with others in a casual way. Because of this, Mina is a bit lonely though doesn't admit it. She is very surprised about Devi and her friends treating her like "one of the gang", being she never had friends other than Magnus and Edgar. She was home schooled so she hardly hung out with anyone her age. Mina is still a teenager and while Devi and her friends are adults, she can somehow relate to them just fine and they treat her equally.
Mina is very soft spoken and speaks in an almost monotone type voice. She smiles a little bit but doesn't show much expression being as said, she doesn't interact with others that much least outside of management traits. She is also a little bit strict, mainly that during lessons or serious moments. She's usually seen in a gothic lolita outfit such as the dress in the picture. Sometimes, she may wear a boy's version of goth lolita, during times where she has to do a lot of walking. Later on, she does start to wear street clothes.
Edgar Vargas is Mina's caretaker and very close friend of hers. She sees him somewhat of a loving father or guardian. He watches over her protectively and always makes sure that she is safe and well. She understands Edgar's lack of knowledge of the magic arts and legends, so she is the one that has to explain certain things to him.
Magnus also comes around sometimes and they will talk, mainly about the current situation that is happening with the knights and the Dark Master. Magnus made a promise to her family, that he would train the third knight (Eric), being the third knight was said to be a vampire, and presume, the new generation of the knights would also be a vampire. Magnus and Mina have a grandfather and granddaughter type relationship. He's very nurturing towards her and often watches out for her as well. He often warns her of any danger or if he feels something is up.
Alternate Difference: Um...I guess he's the same...You can't really say much about a guy who only lived enough for a few pages before getting killed. The only difference I can say ism he's less of a preacher and does't interact with Nny, being he doesn't fight and pretty much stays beside Mina. Oh, in the fanfic he has a gentlemen style ponytail.
Bio/Profile: Edgar got involved with Mina's family some time when Mina was just a young child. He was first hired as a basic manager of the shop, but when Mina's parents started traveling, they trusted Mina in his care and ever since then, he's made sure that she is safe and cared for. Edgar is very close to Mina and her family, being he's never had any real family nor many friends, but has a strong faith in God and believing if you're a good person, good things will come to you. Mina's family has treated Edgar much like family, especially since he had accepted the whole mystic legend thing. He once said that he's seen strange things enough not to question anything existing or not. "God only knows" as he often states.
Edgar strongly cares for Mina as if she was his own daughter and is very protective of her. In fights, he often keeps Mina close beside him and forces her to flee and get to safety if it gets too dangerous. He can't fight at all, so his efforts in protecting Mina are life risking, but he's willing to do it to keep those he cares for out of harms way. He rather would die than lose someone close especially Mina.
Edgar also doesn't believe in anyone being truly a bad person, nor does he ever like to speak ill of anyone or anything. He is very open minded to just about anything. Example he gladly accepts Eric and Magnus despite them being vampires, so doesn't see such things like vampires as "devils" or "demons", despite a strong Christain faith. He actually worries about Magnus is well being especially, since he knows that Magnus is a close friend of Mina's family and is slowly dying.
Edgar will help give advice that Mina and her family have taught him, but he doesn't know as much about the mystical and knights legend as Mina. He also gives full support and is very quick on helping anyone that needs assistance, especially in terms of transport. (He has a huge van.)
